Bakersfield man dies in freeway collision in Paso Robles
–Johnathan Villarreal, a 26-year-old Bakersfield man, died Wednesday night following a single-vehicle crash on northbound Highway 101 south of the Spring Street off-ramp, according to reports.
The crash happened at about 9:10 p.m. He was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Highway 101, approaching the Spring Street off-ramp, when his car drifted left and partially onto the dirt center divider. He tried to correct the Tahoe back onto the freeway, but lost control of the car, reports say.
The vehicle spun and drifted over the right side of the road before rolling down an embankment and across the railroad tracks below.
