–Beloved mother and sister, Barbara Stanford, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Mar. 20, 2018, at her home in Palm Springs. Barbara was born in Alameda, to Frank and Melba (Stringer) Vogel. Barbara attended Atascadero High School, Cuesta College, and Cal Poly SLO. She and her first husband Mike Musgjerd owned and operated Napa Auto Parts in Atascadero. Barbara then married Don Stanford in 1976 and together they owned and operated Baeker’s Pharmacy also in Atascadero. These include Friends of the Palm Springs Library, Rotary International, The 99’s, Palm Springs Woman’s Club, Los Compadres, and Tahquitz Creek Golf Neighborhood Organization.

Barb proudly earned her private pilot’s license in 1988. She was an avid world traveler. She visited many exotic locations too numerous to list. She had just returned from a trip to Morocco that she thoroughly enjoyed. She leaves behind many wonderful and cherished friends. She will be deeply missed by those who valued her positive outlook, sound advice, sense of adventure, and loyalty. She is survived by son, Todd Musgjerd (Renee), grandson Adrian of San Dimas, sister Debbie (Brad) of Palm Springs, nephew Brennan Spencer of Monterey, and Aunt Linda Stringer of Richland, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at the Los Compadres Clubhouse, 1849 El Cielo Rd., Palm Springs on Saturday, Apr. 7, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation in Barb’s name to the Friends of the Palm Springs Library 300 N. Sunrise Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262 or to a charity of your choice.
