Bauer Speck to host annual Agriculture Day
Hands on activities will include a petting zoo, milking a cow, and more
–The 21st annual Agriculture Day will be held at Bauer Speck Elementary School on Friday March 11, from 8:30 – 11 a.m. Agriculture Day is intended to give Bauer Speck students and teachers a better appreciation of the vital role agriculture plays in our lives.
There will be a variety of presentations from members of the local community who have volunteered their time to introduce students and teachers to all aspects of agriculture. These guest speakers represent many of the various agricultural occupations practiced here in Paso Robles.
All station presentations are linked to the California teaching standards of either earth, life, or physical science. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade will see demonstrations about animals, equipment, food, and plants. They will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities such as a petting zoo, learning how to milk a cow, and making tortillas and ice cream. There will be a total of 25 different stations available for students.
