Bearcat Athletes of the Week: Layla Aguilar, Mason Ruppe, Justin Wilshsuen, Gabby Anaya, and Harlem Rickson, and Samantha Roby

Layla Aguilar.
Athlere: Layla Aguilar
Year: Sophomore
Coach’s comment: Layla has had an amazing season so far! She continues to shine in her partner stunts—especially Stunt 5—and has taken on important roles in our pyramids and tosses, showing both versatility and confidence.
She currently has 232 power points this season and has played in every match, proving her consistency and dedication to the team. As only a sophomore, Layla has already made a strong impact, and we’re excited to see where her future as a Bearcat takes her!” -Vanessa Espinoza.

Mason Ruppe.
Student: Mason Ruppe
Year: Senior
Coach’s comment: Mason was a double event winner in the swim meet vs Arroyo Grande. He won the 200-yard IM as well as the 100-yard breaststroke.” -Coach Collin Moore

Justin Wilshsuen.
Athlete: Justin Wilshsuen
Year: Senior
Coach’s comment: “Senior pole vaulter Justin Wilshusen has set another new school record (breaking his old record of 16’6″), clearing an impressive 17 feet, 0 inches. This mark continues to raise the bar for the program, but also places Justin 1st in California and #4 in the nation among high school competitors. Justin will travel to some of the biggest track meets in the nation over the next few weeks to compete against the best in the nation. His first stop is the Texas Relays in Austin, TX on April 3rd.”
