    Bearcat boys finish first at Clovis Invitational

    Paso Robles High cross country teams set to compete in PAC 8 meet Oct 15

    – The Paso Robles High School Bearcat boys’ team claimed the top spot in the Division 2 race on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Clovis.

    From the boys’ team, three of the Bearcat runners finished in the top seven: Luis Armendariz and Gannon Chamberlain placed fourth and fifth respectively at 16:17and 16:25, while Josh Potter finished seventh with a time of 16:26. It was the first time in school history that the Bearcat boys have won the Clovis invitational; they are currently ranked second in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 and third in the State for Division 3.

    The Bearcat girls’ team, led by Ashley Davis, took 13th place in the Division 2 race. Davis, a senior, placed 10th with a time of 19:30.

    The Bearcat cross country teams’ first PAC 8 League meet is set for Thursday in Santa Maria at the Unocal Event Center. Races will take place throughout the afternoon starting at 12:30 p.m.
