All Bearcat football games in Bakersfield canceled due to extreme heat 

–Officials from the Kern High School District have canceled all football games and athletic activities due to the extreme heat. The scheduled games between Paso Robles High School (PRHS) and Frontier High School (Bakersfield) have all been canceled. This includes the varsity and JV games scheduled for Friday and today’s freshman game.

PRHS officials have already scheduled a replacement game for Oct. 20 (originally a bye week). That game will be played at Foothill High School in Bakersfield. Kickoff for the JV game will be 5 p.m. and the varsity game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

PRHS girls’ tennis and girls’ golf have also been canceled for today.
