Bearcat musicians selected for local honor ensembles 

The San Luis Obispo County Band Directors Association recently held auditions for the local honor group. Competition for the chance to participate in these honor ensembles is strong, and 12 Bearcat musicians were selected to join the group.

The twelve selected students are: Esther Elias and Linnea Schaefer (Flute); Adam Torres, Ryan Grinager, and Diana Cano, (Clarinet); Alexander Passegger (Alto Sax); Ryan Frank (Tenor Sax); Austin Andrus (Horn); Jonathan Mercado (Trumpet); Sara Grinager (Trombone); Emily Nichols (Tuba); and Alec Wingfield (Percussion).

Three Bearcats also auditioned for the San Luis Obispo County Honor Jazz Band, hosted by Cuesta College; Ryan Grinager and Dylan Bourdon (Alto Sax), and Alec Wingfield (Drum Set).

The Honor Band Concert will perform at the Cal Poly Preforming Arts Center on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. The Honor Jazz Band Concert will perform at the Cuesta College Performing Arts Center on Feb. 28th at 7:30 p.m.
