Bearcat sports results for Mar. 21-Apr. 17 

–Paso Robles High School Director of Athletics, Anthony Morales, has announced the results of Bearcat athletics for Mar. 21-Apr. 17.


Our PRHS girls wrapped up an undefeated league season by defeating Nipomo 20-4 and Santa Barabara High School 16-5 last night in Nipomo. Our girls will now be advancing to the Southern Section Championships on Apr. 24, 2018. This event will take place at Riverside Community College. Wish them luck.

Men’s Volleyball

Last night the Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Pioneer Valley Panthers by a score of 3-2. Set scores were 25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-12.

Despite playing with a freshman setter, the Bearcats were able to put together enough offense to break through Pioneer Valley’s tough defense. Ethan Wright had 20 assists while Ethan Todd had 15 kills and Zane Warren added nine more kills.

The Bearcats improve to 14-9 overall (6-3 in league). Our next game is on Thursday night and at Arroyo Grande High School.

On Apr. 10:
The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the St. Joseph Knights by a score of 3-1. Set scores were 25-13, 25-13, 18-25, 25-17.

Ramon Torres racked up an incredible 44 assists as three different Bearcats were in double digits for kills: Marcus Stemper had 12 kills, Brock Williams had 13 kills, and Ethan Todd had 19 kills. Hector Arteaga had five aces while Ethan todd added five aces of his own.

On Mar. 29:
The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Mission Prep Royals by a score of 3-0. Set scores were 25-17, 25-12, 25-12.

Ramon Torres posted almost 12 assists a set as he amassed 35 assists total while Marcus Stemper led the offense with 11 kills and three aces. Brock Williams continued his hot streak with nine kills, Hector Arteaga also posted nine kills and Ethan Todd had seven kills and five aces.

On Mar. 27:
The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Righetti Warriors by a score of 3-2. Set scores were 27-29, 25-19, 15-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Ethan Todd posted 23 kills, Brock Williams had 13 kills and four blocks, and Marcus Stemper had five kills and 13 digs. Ramon Torres had 41 assists and Bryce Towai had 15 digs.

On Mar. 21:
The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the St. Josephs Knights 3-0. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Ethan Todd posted 11 kills and six aces, Ramon Torres had 25 assists, and Brock Williams had five blocks and five kills.


Yesterday Paso Robles tied St. Joseph 7-7 with 11 innings played and called due to darkness. Paso Robles is home today vs St. Joseph 4:30 p.m.

On Apr. 10:
Atascadero – 1 Paso Robles – 0, eight innings. Brad Tees pitched seven innings of shutout ball. Oscar Rendon and Wyatt Gidcumb each had a hit for the Bearcats.

On Apr. 6:
Paso Robles High School defeated Buhach Colony (Atwater) 9-1.

On Apr. 5:
Paso Robles High School defeated Sunnyside (Fresno) 15-1.

On Apr. 4:
Paso Robles High School defeated Paraclete 10-0.

On Apr. 4-6:
Righetti Tournament. San Ramon Valley – 6 Paso Robles – 1. Hunter Barnhart, Will Stroud each had a hit for the Bearcats, Sam Babb pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

On Mar. 29:
Paso Robles High School defeated Arroyo Grande 7-0.

On Mar. 28:
Paso Robles High School defeated Arroyo Grande 4-2.

On Mar. 27:
Paso Robles High School defeated Arroyo Grande 3-0.


Last night Paso Robles High School defeated Mission Prep 6-3. Kinsey Metcalf earned her second win in two days and Alyssa Valle got her second save in as many days. Paso struck first in the third inning scoring three times. Crystal Linn had three Rbi’s on two hits to help the Bearcats get the PAC 8 win. Brooke Milder also hit her first home run of the season in the fifth inning. Paso moves to 5 and 2 in the PAC 8. The Bearcats host St. Joesph on Thursday in another league contest. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

On Apr. 16:
Paso Robles defeated San Luis 6-4. It was a hard-fought game with Paso getting the PAC 8 victory and Sophie Prieto hit a home run in that game to start the inning.

Our Paso Robles JV team is still undefeated. The Paso JV softball team continued their winning ways last Friday with another shutout victory, this time on the road vs. Righetti, 7-0.

It was another stellar complete-game performance from freshman pitcher Rowan Schiocchetti, who struck out seven and helped herself by driving in the game’s first run. Other notable Bearcats include Hannah Tibbetts (2/5 2 rbi), Carra Ford (three walks), and Natalie Portillo (two runs, one rbi).

The JV Bearcats have not been scored upon so far in league play. This past Monday we traveled to SLO and we host St. Joe at Liberty on Thursday.

Men’s Tennis

Paso Robles had a home match yesterday against Atascadero. It was also senior day for Paso and the Bearcats won the match 13-5.

Men’s Golf

Yesterday in men’s golf, Paso Robles High School was defeated by Arroyo Grande 409-495 at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course. Logan Burns was the low score for Paso Robles with a 94. Arroyo Grande’s Owen Avritt was the medalist with a 77. The Bearcats are now 4-5 in the PAC 8. Today our men’s golf team travels to Chalk Mountain to take on Atascadero.

On Apr. 12:
In men’s golf, Paso Robles High School defeated Pioneer Valley in a nine-hole match at Black Lake Golf Course. The Bearcats carded a 248. Logan Burns was the medalist with a 42.

On Mar. 29:
In men’s golf, Paso Robles High School defeated St. Joseph 448-484. Our 448 score was the best for the season. Please note St. Joseph High School beat us back on Mar. 6. This was a great win for us with a great score.

Swim & Dive

On Apr. 13:
Paso Robles took on their North County rivals at the Atascadero pool. This meet saw the Bearcat’s first two CIF consideration times earned in a spectacular battle between junior Mackenzie Raymond (5:26.60) and freshman Kendall Moffitt (5:27.00) in the 500 Free. On the men’s side Sebastian Scott had two best times in the 200 Free and 100 Back; while Ethan Moore earned two first-place finishes in the 100 Fly and the 200 Free. With the PAC-8 League meet just two weeks away these victories are certainly an exciting glimpse at what could be a very fast Championships. The final scores were: Varsity Boys: PRHS 100 – AHS 88; Varsity Girls: PRHS 141 – AHS 58; JV Boys: PRHS 78 – AHS 73, JV Girls: PRHS 96 – AHS 93. This Friday we travel to Righetti for a meet.

On Apr. 6:
On Friday, Apr. 6, the Paso Robles High School diving team traveled to Clovis West High School to compete in the Clovis West High School Invitational where 18 girls teams and 12 boys teams competed. Paso Robles High freshman Sage Adams placed 14 out 39 girls. Sage was the only freshman girl competition had an outstanding performance making the finals and scoring 253.80 in the 11 dive event. For the boys event, Cori Southward dove well and finished in third place with a score of 342.00. Ethan Lundgren-Carmon made the finals and placed 15 overall with a score 257.75. The winners of both competitions were Talia Mickelsen for Bakersfield with a score of 361.85 and for the boys Dominic Carollo from Bellarmine High School with a score of 432.70. Next competition is at San Luis Obispo in the SLO Invitational on Apr. 21.

On Mar. 23:
This was our first home meet of the season. The Paso Robles Bearcats took on Pioneer Valley. While the final score was lopsided, Pioneer Valley showed a lot of heart and promise for the future. Standouts for the meet include Abby Spring who dropped 20 seconds in her 200 IM, Zach Tucker who dropped a second in the 25 free (24.5), and Tyler Seidel dropped two seconds in the 100 Fly. John “Tre” Eade, Nolan Rumph, and Sebastian Scott all dropped a second in their respective events. The final results were, Varsity Boys: PR 85 – PV 15; Varsity Girls: PR 86 – PV 15; JV Boys: PR 47 – PV 10, JV Girls: PR 54 – PV 31.


Today we host Atascadero High School and this last week was a busy week for the Bearcats. We had three meets.

Last Tuesday, we hosted Arroyo Grande and Mission College Prep. Arroyo Grande won both the JV/Varsity girls division for the meet, however; for the first time in recent memory, the men took both the JV and Varsity divisions. This makes our Bearcat Varsity Men undefeated in the league so far this year. Click here for complete meet results. Last Thursday, the freshman and sophomore Bearcats went down to Atascadero for the PAC 8 FAT Meet. It’s not very often that our athletes only compete with athletes in their age bracket. Click Here for complete meet results.

This past Saturday our top athletes traveled to Clovis, CA and Buchanan High School for the West Coast Relays. It was a beautiful day and very fast track. Click here for complete performances. The competition at West Coast is high and many of our Bearcats ran outstanding times!

On Mar. 27, it was a beautiful spring day for that day’s triangular meet between Paso Robles, Pioneer Valley, and St. Joseph. 220 Athlete competed in 539 events. Complete meet results can be found by clicking here. Paso Robles swept all four divisions.
