Bearcat sports results for May 11-12 

–Paso Robles High School Director of Athletics, Anthony Morales, has announced the results of Bearcat athletics for May 11-12.


Last Friday our baseball team defeated Mission College Prep High School 11-0. Our Bearcats finished the conference season in third place from the PAC 8. Baseball CIF playoffs begin May 15 as we travel to Santa Barbara High School. Game time is set for 3:15 p.m.


Last week our softball team finished the conference season in second place. Our softball team will now play in the first round of CIF playoffs, which begin on Thursday, May 17, 2018, as we travel to South El Monte High School. Game time is set for 3:15 p.m.


Last Friday our PRHS women’s swim team participated in the CIF Preliminaries in Riverside, CA. While on Friday, Audrey Hughes qualified seventeenth for 50 freestyle and she swam four tenths of a second off of a school record (24.88). In addition, Audrey Hughes broke the school record from 1996, in the 100 backstroke, by .06 seconds, 1:00.31. On Saturday, May 12, Audrey Hughes, dropped .44 seconds and nearly broke a school record of the meet. She went 24.59 and the school record is 24.43. Our coaching staff feels she will break the record next year. Overall she placed fourteenth in the event. Great job to all of our swimmers and the entire program.


CIF Results:
The Bearcats had a great day on Saturday traveling to Moorpark High School for the 2018 Division 2 CIF Southern Section Prelims. Here is how the Bearcats did:

  • Jordan Summers (11th) – 19th in 100m 11.26, 16th in the 200m 22.53
  • Steven Scruggs (11th) – 20th in 1600m 4:25.51 and 19th in the 3200m 9:40.63
  • Pablo Cortes (11th) – 15th in 3200m 9:37.44
  • Brendan Farnsworth (11th) – 11th in 110mHH 15.31 and 15th in 300mH 40.69
  • Jerahmy Kelley (10th) – 31st in 110mHH 16.23
  • Corban Payne (11th) – 25th in Shot Put 42-04.25 and 13th in Disc 154-09
  • Micah Katz (12th) – 11th in Disc 155-07 (Huge PR)
  • Connor Lacy (11th) 31st in Long Jump 19-02 and 24th in Triple Jump 40-4.5
  • Kendall Caruana (11th) – 14th in 800m 2:20.07
  • Cara Jones (12th) – 22nd in Disc 110-07
  • Kiah Williams (12th) – 31st in Long Jump 14-08
  • Boys 4x100m Relay – 18th 44.10 – Kaden Gallant (11th), Dante Coletta (12th), Levi Marshall (10th), Jordan Summers (11th)
  • Boys 4x400m Relay – 35th – 3:42.85 – DaRon Snipes (11th), Ian Grace (10th), Dante Coletta (12th), Jordan Summers (11th)
  • Girls 4x400m Relay – 33rd – 4:23.63 – Kendall Caruana (11th), Aniah Weaks (12th), Jessica Jagger (11th), Torri Pugh (11th)


And last, but not least, your two Bearcat D2 CIF-SS Finalist who will travel to El Camino JC on Saturday to claim their spot in the top 9 in the Divisional Championships:

  • Cade England (12th) – Triple Jump – 44′ 11″ – Currently #2
  • Kimberly Buchanan (11th) – Shot Put – 40′ 7.5″ – Currently #4 (Top 4 All Time at PRHS)
