Bearcat weekend results 

–Paso Robles High School Director of Athletics, Anthony Morales, has announced the results of Bearcat athletics for Oct. 3-7.

Oct. 3
Women’s golf fell short to Atascadero on Tuesday. Kayla Hernandez led the Bearcats with a 51.

Women’s tennis had a tough day on the courts. SLO won the match 17-1. Paso actually played well against this strong team.

Singles:

Siena Berry 2-6, 0-6, 1-6
Mia Venturini 1-6, 0-7, 5-7
Stephany Abarca 3-6, 1-6, 5-7

Doubles:
Anya Medearis – Becca Slason 1-6, 1-6, 6-3
Livia Rambo- Alex Fletes 3-6, 1-6, 1-6
Pina Contreras – Joanna Diaz 1-6, 1-6, 0-6

Paso is 9-8, 5-4 in league.

The men’s water polo team faced the Atascadero Greyhounds on Tuesday. The Bearcats were not able to consistently handle the press that the Greyhounds placed on them. The final score was 12 to 5. Zack Tucker and John Nash both scored 2 goals each, Cameron Armstrong added the last goal. Zane Warren had an outstanding game in goal and had 16 goals. The Bearcats are now 9 and 9 on the season and will be facing Righetti next Tuesday at Righetti.

Lady Bearcats defeated St Joseph’s Tuesday night with Scores of 25-23, 26-16 and 25-9.

The Bearcats improve to 4-4 in league. The Bearcats were led offensively by Camryn Curren with 11 kills and Phoebe Corgiat with 7… Curren also had 4 aces and 13 digs. Brooke Milder had 35 assists.

Coach Woolf was very happy with the offense. Defense has always been a pretty solid.

Oct. 5
Women’s golf finished in 5th place at the mini tournament. Josie Scruggs shot a 51 and Tori Smith shot a 61. These two scores were Josie and Tori’s best rounds in tournament play for the season.

Varsity women’s tennis defeated Pioneer Valley HS 17-1. The Bearcats were able to rotate the entire team in and get some playtime.

Paso is now 10-8 and 6-4 in league play.

Women’s volleyball fell short to SLO Tigers last night in an important match for both teams as they were tied for 4th place in the Pac-8. The Lady Tigers took the match 3 games to 1… The Bearcats did a lot of great things last night in their play, but just couldn’t finish the game.

Coach Woolf stated, that the Bearcats are solid on defense and digging some amazing hits by other teams and we have such amazing hitters.

The Bearcats were led offensively by Camryn Curren with 17 kills and Madi Warren with 12. Becca Stroud had 4 aces on the night and the Bearcats had a number of defensive players in the double digits. Curren with 30, Brooke Milder with 19, Stroud with 16, Kristina Canales with 14 and Madison Anderson with 11.

The Bearcats host Pioneer Valley on Tuesday Oct. 10 with it also being a night to honor Bearcat Mandy Snowbarger and long time Bearcat Coach DJ Bigelow. Wear either your Crimson and Gold or Seahawk Green and Blue and come support the Lady Bearcats!

Freshman football defeated Arroyo Grande HS 6-0. Congrats to them for winning the first league opener in student football.

Oct. 6
Please wish our JV and varsity student football team good luck as we travel to Arroyo Grande HS. In addition, our JV men’s water polo team is playing today and tomorrow in Arroyo Grande for a tournament. We wish them luck too.

Oct. 7
Freshman women’s volleyball will be traveling to Arroyo Grande HS for a tournament. Best of luck to our girl and please wish our cross country team the best of luck as they will be competing in the Asics Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park (home of the state cross country championships). We wish both the men and women’s teams well.
