Bearcat weekend results for Nov. 10-11

–Paso Robles High School Director of Athletics, Anthony Morales, has announced the results of Bearcat athletics for Nov. 10-11.

    Football

Please congratulate our varsity football team and coaching staff for a fantastic performance they demonstrated on Friday, November 10 in the 1st round of our CIF Southern Section playoffs. Even though we did not come out victorious, our boys played hard until the very end. We are proud of our PAC 5 Champions.

    Cross Country

Speaking of Champions, Men’s Cross Country stepped up and made it happen on Saturday at CIF Prelims in Riverside. The boys finished 1st in their heat, earning a spot in the CIF Southern Section Finals back down in Riverside this upcoming weekend (5 1/2 hour drive to get there on Friday!). There are 96 schools in Division 2 (populations of 2,000-2,400 students), we are currently ranked 5th (with Arroyo Grande on our heels at #6). The top seven teams from CIF Finals, in each division, will get to advance to the State Championships in Clovis held during Thanksgiving Break. It will be the first time our school has ever been represented at the State Meet in Division 2 (we’ve been there 5 times in Division 3). By winning their race on Saturday, our boys have put a giant target on their back. The 24 other schools in their race will be chasing them on the dusty 3-mile course this week.

The Women’s Cross Country team finished 14th in their heat on Saturday. Top 12 qualify for Finals. This has been a great year for a very young team. Only one runner was a returner to the CIF course this year (Jasmine Rangel – who led our girls in a stunning performance). We aren’t losing a single senior from our Varsity squad and we are excited about the future with these hard working ladies.
