Bearcats baseball beats Seaside
North County sports update
–The Paso Robles boys baseball team beat Seaside Saturday night, 16-1 in five innings. The Bearcats scored six runs in the first inning and eight in the second. Juniors CJ Ontiveros and Ethan Breese went 3-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Freshman Carson Turnquist went 3-4 with three RB’s. Senior Riley Swarthout had two doubles in the game. The Bearcats improve to 7-5 overall. This week, they play the undefeated San Luis Obispo Tigers. The conference opener is at 6 Wednesday evening at Paso Robles High School.
The Paso Robles girls softball team beat San Luis Obispo on Friday, 6-2. The Bearcats are now 6-4 overall, 1-1 in conference. They will travel Tuesday to Arroyo Grande to take on the Eagles at 4:30.
The Paso Robles boys volleyball team lost a match to Hoover at the Central Valley Challenge. The Bearcats fall to 3-4 overall.
On Friday, the Atascadero boys baseball team lost to Fresno 6-0. The Greyhounds host Templeton at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.
The Atascadero girls softball team lost to Whittier Christian Friday. The Greyhounds scored two runs in the seventh, but lost 6-5. They will host Templeton on Tuesday, a match-up of two of the top pitchers on the Central Coast, the Eagles’ Ashley Daugherty against the Greyhounds’ Bailey Doherty. The game is scheduled for 4:30 Tuesday afternoon at Vineyard Ballpark in Templeton. The Eagles are now 4-1 overall, 1-1 in conference. The Greyhounds are 8-5, 2-0 in conference.
Templeton girls softball team suffered its first loss Friday at Righetti, 2-1. Each team had three hits in the game. The Eagles made two errors; Righetti none. Only one of the two Righetti runs was an earned run. Sophomore Isabella Backer went 2-3 in the game. Freshman Alex Dahlen had the only other hit for the Eagles.
On Friday, the Templeton boys baseball team lost to San Luis Obispo 7-2. They will play at Atascadero on Wednesday at 4:30.
The Tempelton boys volleyball team lost to Reedley on Friday. They will host Pioneer Valley on Tuesday at 5:30.
