Bearcats baseball beats St. Joseph 8-2 

North County sports update

The Paso Robles boys baseball team beat St. Joseph Wednesday afternoon in Santa Maria by a score of 8-2. Senior Lucas Climer threw a complete game for the Bearcats, giving up three hits and two earned runs. Climer struck out 12 Knights. The Bearcats host St. Joseph at 6:00 Friday evening at Barnhart Field.

The Atascadero boys baseball team lost at San Luis Obispo 9-1 on Tuesday. The Greyhounds host the Tigers Friday afternoon at 4:30.

The Templeton boys baseball team hosts Arroyo Grande Friday afternoon at 4:30.
The Templeton girls softball team, hosts Paso Robles Friday afternoon at 4:30.

In softball

Paso softball won a home game yesterday against the Righetti warriors by the score of 6 to 0. Paso scored 1 in the first and 2 in the second inning to take an early 3 to 0 lead. Righetti threatened to score in the 4th inning with runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. A hard hit ground ball to shortstop resulted in a 6-4-3 double play and ended the threat. Brooke Milder , Becca Stroud and Andie Dizon turned that play in. The Bearcats scored 3 more runs in the 6th inning to put the game away. Jaiden Ralston had another good day on the mound striking out 7 hitters and only allowed 3 hits. Paso is on the road Friday night and play the Templeton Eagles. Game time is 6:00 pm. Come on out and watch some softball under the Friday Night Lights.

In men’s volleyball

The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Righetti Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday Night. Set scores were 25–23, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Hector Arteaga lead the team with 8 kills and 5 blocks while Jordan Morris added 5 kills. Caleb Wittwer and Brock Williams added 7 blocks each to the winning effort.

Bearcats improve to 8-9 on the season (2-1 in league play) and next play vs St Joseph on Thursday night at home. First serve is at 5:30.

In men’s tennis

Paso has a road match on Tuesday against Righetti and played well, beating the Warriors the second straight time with a score of 9-0.
