Bearcats beat Eagles in extra inning
The Paso Robles Bearcats beat the Arroyo Grande Eagles 4-3 yesterday in Arroyo Grande. The Bearcats scored the winning run because of a throwing error in the top of the 8th inning. Senior Nolan Binkele picked up the win. Binkele also hit 3-4 at the plate Freshman Hunter Barnhart went 3-5. Juniors Will Stroud and Wyatt Gidcumb each went 2-4.
Sophomore Ryan Harvel threw six innings for the Bearcats. He gave up only two hits and two runs, but both runs were unearned. Binkele relieved Harvel in the 7th inning.
The Bearcats return home for the second game in the three-game series against the third place Eagles. Tonight’s game is Senior night. Seniors on the team will be honored on their final regular season game at home.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at Paso Robles High School.
The Bearcats remain tied for first place in the Pac-8 conference with Righetti. The Warriors shut-out Mission College Prep 6-0 yesterday on a one-hitter.
