Bearcats beat Greyhounds Tuesday night

–The Paso Robles Bearcats baseball team beat the Atascadero Greyhounds 6-5 in extra innings Tuesday night at Barnhart Field.

The game was tied three times, but the Bearcats won in the bottom of the 9th on a throwing error by a Greyhound infielder.

Last year, the Greyhounds swept the Bearcats, winning both games. But last year, Bearcat head coach Jonathon Thornhill coached the Greyhounds. The Bearcats played without standout catcher C.J. Ontiveros, who suffered severe cuts to his hand when a player slid into him in a recent game.

The Bearcat softball team beat St. Joseph 7-1 at Paso Robles High School Friday night. Hannah Chambers pitched well for the Bearcats.

Templeton softball team beat Santa Maria 7-0. Ashley Daugherty threw a no-hitter for the Eagles. In seven innings she struck out 18, walked one and allowed no hits. Daugherty is committed to attending Texas A & M after she graduates in June.

The Atascadero softball team beat Nipomo 8-1 on Tuesday.
