The Paso Robles Bearcats beat the Mission Prep Royals in a baseball game 6-5 on Wednesday night at Paso Robles High School.
In the bottom of the 7th inning, Will Stroud hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Seth Matthyse and break a 5-5 tie. Matthyse led off the 7th with a stand-up double down the left-center alley.
An intentional walk and an infield single loaded the bases. Then, Stroud blasted a line drive to left field. The fielder made the catch, but Matthyse tagged up and scored the winning run.
The Bearcats improved to 13-1 in conference.
They play at Mission Prep Thursday and close out the regular season next week against Righetti, which also has only one defeat.
