– The Bearcats were back in action on Tuesday night, as they traveled to Orcutt Academy and came home with a well-deserved win. The Bearcats had their senior co-captain Troy Ross back on the court for his first game this season. Troy and fellow co-captain TJ Rothbauer guided the team in the first set for a 25-12 win and pushed the team to a bonus point win in set two 28-26. Feeding off of the energy of the captains were a pair of juniors, Omar Acevedo and Miguel Muniz. As Miguel kept set three out of reach for Orcutt with his dominant serving, Paso took set three 25-18.

Leaders from Tuesday night’s game were Miguel Muniz with seven blocks and four aces, TJ Rothbauer with 18 assists and six aces. Other major contributions were provided by Troy Ross with five blocks, three aces, and six kills, Omar Acevedo added two blocks, two aces, and four kills. Additional points were racked up by Senior Opposite Hitter Brian Ibarra who had some critical passes and kills in sets two and three. There were also two sophomores that were starting to handle themselves well on the varsity court, Jordan Prowse and Bennett Reed, who both contributed with a combined effort of two blocks, three aces, and four kills.

The boys’ volleyball program will be back in action on Friday evening as they host Central from Fresno at 5 p.m. in Gil Asa Gym.
