Bearcats to face Sierra Canyon Trailblazers 

–The Paso Robles Bearcats (5-0) put their perfect record on the line Friday night against Sierra Canyon (6-0) of Chatsworth.

Last week, the Bearcats beat Clovis North 24-7. Sierra Canyon was scheduled to play Mission Prep of San Luis Obispo, but the Royals forfeited the game. The MCP coach cited a lack of healthy players eligible for the game, so he chose to forfeit.Bearcats football paso robles

The Bearcats are ranked 57th in the state by Max Preps. The Trailblazers are ranked 71st.

Quarterback Steve Schouten is averaging 196 yards per game for the Bearcats. Of that total, 164 yards per game is passing yardage. Running back Christian Erickson is averaging 130 yards and 16 points per game.

The Trailblazers are led by 6’2″, 190-pound quarterback Niko Harris, who is averaging 134 yards passing per game, 158 yards total. Running back Joshua Cole is rushing for an average 130 yards per game.

The Bearcats are scoring an average of 38 points per game and their opponents 22. The Trailblazers average 36 points per game while giving up only 16.

Kick-off is at 7:00 tonight at War Memorial Stadium in Paso Robles. The game can be heard live on KPRL. 1230 AM beginning at 6:30. The game can also be heard on KJUG, 98.1 fm.

The Bearcats JV tean plays on Saturday, so there will be only the Varsity game tonight at War Memorial Stadium.
