Bearcats football loses to Sanger

–The Paso Robles Bearcats lost to Sanger 27-24 at War Memorial Stadium Friday night. The Bearcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, when Nathan Garcia carried the ball on a four-yard run.
In the second quarter, David Ayala kicked a field goal for Sanger. Then, quarterback Noel Collazo threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jake Boust. Just before halftime, the Bearcats tied the game with a field goal.
Each team scored a touchdown in the third quarter. Kosi Agina scored on a 23-yard run for the Apaches. The Bearcats tied the score on a rushing touchdown.
In the 4th quarter, Neil Collazo threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Jake Boust.
David Ayala kicked another field goal to put the Apaches up 27-17. The Bearcats scored one more touchdown before the two-minute warning, but the Apaches ran out the clock to win 27-24.
Sanger improves to 4-1 for the season. The Bearcats fall to 2-4. Next Friday, the Bearcats travel to Santa Maria to play Righetti.
The Templeton Eagles lost at Santa Ynez, 49-21 Friday night. The Eagles scored the first touchdown but gave up four Pirate touchdowns before halftime. In the third quarter, Shane Simonin intercepted a Pirate screen pass and ran it back for a touchdown. That closed the lead, but not for long as the Pirates continued to score.
Next Friday, the Eagles host the Morro Bay Pirates. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
The Atascadero Greyhounds lost to Pioneer Valley 36-7 in Santa Maria. The Greyhounds fall to 0-5 for the season. The Greyhounds play next Friday against Royal in Simi Valley.
