Bearcats hosting Firecracker Baseball Classic 

–The Paso Robles Bearcats are hosting the Firecracker Baseball Classic. It’s a high school-aged baseball tournament in the North County with games in Tempelton, Atascadero and Paso Robles. Six teams are taking part this year. Besides three North County baseball teams, there are teams from Redding and Colusa. Monday, Colusa beat Paso Robles 11-0 at Barnhart Field.

A double header is scheduled today at Paso Robles High School, Tempelton High School and Atascadero High School. Games to be played at 2 and 5 this afternoon.

This afternoon, the Bearcats play two teams from the Redding area. The first is against the Norcal All-stars, 16 and under. The second game is against Norcal All-stars, 18 and under.

The tournament concludes with three championship games Wednesday at Paso Robles High School.
