Bearcats lose to Mission Prep at ‘Senior Night’ game 


–Senior Night at Gil Asa Gym attracted about 200 spectators, but the Bearcats girls basketball team lost to Mission College Prep 43-38. Before the game the parents of several seniors were brought on the court to honor the players on their final home game.

The Bearcats led for most of the game, but failed to score in the last two minutes. The Royals finished the game with a ten-point run to seize the victory. Mission Prep Freshman Olivia Missler of Oak Shores hit a three-point field goal and scored seven points total for the Royals.

The Royals improve to 17-7 overall, 9-5 in conference. The Bearcats finish the regular season with a record of 11-13, 5-9 in the Pac-8.

On Sunday, CIF will announce pairings for the regional tournament.
