Bearcats shut out the Righetti Warriors
– The Paso Robles High School Boys Soccer team beat Righetti Wednesday night 4-0 at War Memorial Stadium. The Bearcats improve to 15-7 for the season. The Warriors are now 15-6-3. Righetti came into the game ranked #10 in the Central Section. Paso Robles was ranked #15. The victory over Righetti will help Paso Robles’ seeding in the playoff bracket.
The Bearcats got a goal by Junior Alex Lopez early in the game. The score stayed 1-0 until the second half, when Paso Robles scored their second goal on a penalty kick. Jr. Pedro Sandoval made a nice kick into the left corner to make the score 2-0 Bearcats. Sophomore Jaime Cervantes scored the third goal on a solo shot. Alex Lopez iced the game with a 4th goal late in the game.
The Bearcats may learn Thursday if they will host in the first round of the playoffs.
The victory over Righetti reminded the coaches, players, and fans that this Bearcat team has some great young talent and may surprise some opponents in the playoffs.
