Bearcats sports update 

The Bearcats Women’s cross country team came into the Division 2 race ranked 5th.

–Congratulations to the Bearcat Men’s and Women’s Cross Country team who competed in the CIF Central Section Championships. The Men finished in 6th place in Division 1 with Damian Gavilan running a time of 15:19.62 and he is the Division 1 runner-up. Jason Scruggs made the top ten with a time of 15:55.46 and he finished 9th. The women came into the Division 2 race ranked 5th, and had a stunning performance where most of the girls set personal records and they finished 3rd overall in Division 2. Charlotte Castelli is the Division 2 runner-up with a time of 18:30.15 and Maddi Loff finished 6th with a time of 19:06.1. The girls will return all their top runners next season. Congratulations to Damian Gavilan, Charlotte Castelli, and Maddi Loff who will compete in the CIF State Cross Country Championships individually on Saturday, Nov. 30.

On Wednesday, November 20, Women’s soccer defeated Nipomo HS 2-0. Sophomore Kate Lowry scored the 1st goal and Sophomore Rayvin Wulfing score the 2nd. The Bearcats are currently 1-0 overall and will host Templeton HS Nov. 25.

Men’s Soccer defeated Nipomo HS 4-0. PRHS will travel to Templeton HS on Nov. 25. Women’s Basketball lost to Orcutt Academy. PRHS will host Morro Bay HS on Nov. 26.

Men’s Basketball defeated Firebaugh Eagles 71-48. Darius Thompson had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Payton Ramos had 12 points and 9 rebounds. Devin Perez had 15 points and 5 assists.

On Thursday, Nov. 21. Men’s Basketball lost to Nipomo HS 59-71. Darius Thompson scored 22 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. PRHS will play at Atascadero HS on Nov. 26 at 6:45 p.m.
