–JV Football defeated Atascadero last Friday night on Oct. 26, 2018.

In addition, our varsity football team defeated A-town 28-24 in a very exciting game. Here is a recap: The Bearcats finished the year with a win against the Greyhounds of Atascadero. On the second play of the game Hunter Barnhart connected with Marshall Wiesner for a 67-yard touchdown pass. The Bearcat defense forced a three and out and shortly after Nathan Garcia had a 5-yard touchdown run that put the Cats up 14-0.

The greyhounds then scored 21 unanswered points before the Bearcats tied the game on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Barnhart to Kaden Gallant right before the half. It was all defense until Atascadero kicked a field goal to take a 24-21 lead with 2:50 left in the game. Braden Waterman then led the game-winning drive for the Bearcats. Hooking up with Seth Maldonado for a 36-yard touchdown pass with a minute left in the game. Senior Linebacker Mark Martinez then intercepted a third down pass from the Atascadero quarterback to effectively end the game with the Bearcats winning 28-24.

In women’s golf, Kayla Hernandez competed in the CIF Central Section Masters Championships. Kayla shot a 105 and we are very proud of her accomplishments.

Please wish our varsity women’s water polo good luck as they travel tomorrow to Sanger, Ca. for the CIF Div. 1 women’s water polo playoffs. The Bearcats received the #10 seed and will play at #7 Sanger H.S. tomorrow. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. Please wish them luck.
