Symphony of the Vines, founded in 2010 by music director Greg Magie, is a professional chamber orchestra based in northern San Luis Obispo County. The organization provides live orchestral concerts for residents and visitors of the central coast of California. Its mission includes fostering music education through its Student Spotlight program, which offers mentoring and performance opportunities to young musicians in the community.
The organization also brings interactive classical music performances to public schools, allowing students to experience live music firsthand. In 2015, the orchestra launched the Off-the-Vines series, which features chamber music performed by orchestra members and guest artists. This series has been a popular addition to the group’s annual programming.
Symphony of the Vines showcases music spanning from the 1600s to modern world premieres, performed by talented local musicians and guest artists.
