Blood drive will strengthen summer blood supply

Blood Drive

–Before you take off for your family vacation or fun in the sun closer to home, United Blood Services Central Coast encourages you to stop by the Paso Robles community blood drive to give your summer donation. Eligible donors are encouraged to give blood three times a year – especially once in the summer – to keep hospital shelves stocked with lifesaving blood.

People simply are much busier than they are at other times of the year and this has a direct impact on the blood supply. Every two to three seconds someone in this country needs blood, and this lifesaving gift can only be donated by a volunteer like you. Taking the time to donate this summer will help to make a difference to those patients who are in need of blood.

The next opportunity to donate blood in your community will be Thursday, June 28 at 900 Park Street Paso Robles, CA 93446 from 1 – 6 p.m. Contact Mona Kleman at (805) 542-8529 or call United Blood Services (805) 543-4290, Ext 0 for more information.

To save time, donors can now fill out their Health History Questionnaire online at www.unitedbloodservices.org the day of their donation. To donate blood, volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16-year-old donors need a minor donor permit which is available at the blood drive or online) and be in good health.
