Book sale at TMS Library a resounding success
More than 70 new books will be added to the Templeton Middle School Library shelves thanks to proceeds earned from last week’s Book Sale.
“For a two day event, this is exceptional,” said TMS Librarian Janice Harington. “We even had a set of parents who purchased and then donated the books!”
The Book Sale is one of two held during the school year and is geared toward getting students excited about reading. They are able to browse through the display shelves containing new books directly from the publisher and purchase those they find of interest.
The proceeds from the Book Sale also benefit the TMS Library by providing the only funding for the library to purchase new books for its shelves. When parents and community members stopped by to browse and purchase books, it helped put support of student reading and resources for the library over the top.
Harington went on to say that the sale was very busy during Open House last Thursday with parents coming in and out all during the evening. day Book Sale at TMS Library a resounding successDuring school the following day, a number of parents and community members also dropped by to support the event and purchase books.
And the timing couldn’t be better. Many TMS students now have some exciting, new books to read and enjoy over the summer break.
