Boys and Girls Clubs host ‘Back a Youth Night’ in Paso Robles
Members of the Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Department attended as mentors
– Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast hosted its annual Back A Youth Night on April 10 at the Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles, bringing together youth and volunteer mentors for an evening of hands-on activities, shared meals, and community connection.
Small groups of club youth and mentors spent the evening participating in creative activities such as crafting tissue paper art, building marshmallow towers, and learning how to make tortillas. The event was designed to foster connection and highlight the high-impact programs available to club members.
Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of Panda Express, donated dinner for the event, allowing youth and mentors to share stories and build relationships over a meal.
Members of the Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services Department attended the event as mentors, engaging with youth and helping build connections between participants and community service professionals. Staff from Golden 1 Credit Union and SESLOC Credit Union also joined as mentors and served as presenting sponsors for the evening. Additional mentors included local leaders and business professionals who volunteered their time to participate.
“This is such a heartfelt event I will come back and do every year. The kids are amazing,” said Carolyn White, chief operations officer of SLO Credit Union. “Seeing the smiles, the creativity and the genuine relationships forming last night reminds us how important community is in helping our kids reach their full potential.” SLO Credit Union was also an event sponsor.
Back A Youth Night is one of several programs hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast to provide opportunities for local youth, promote mentorship, and strengthen ties within the community.
Additional Back A Youth Night events will be held in Guadalupe at the Ron Estabillo Clubhouse on May 15 and in Santa Maria at the Railroad Clubhouse on Sept. 25.
