Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Maria, North County announce merger

–Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Luis Obispo County announced earlier this month that a merger between the two organizations has been completed.

As of May 1, the new organization is known as Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast (BGCCC) and will serve over 2,500 children & teens in after-school and summer programs at eleven locations located in Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Paso Robles, and Atascadero.

The merger is the result of a two-year process that was collectively designed by the Boards of each organization. The ultimate goal was to enable the newly formed organization to serve more youth in areas most in need throughout the region while reducing administrative costs through the elimination of duplicated processes, staffing, and systems.

“Combining the two organizations creates a larger, more capable organization allowing Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast to provide a wider array of youth development programs and services. This will result in more meaningful impact for our region’s youth and teens. As a larger organization, BGCCC will also have the opportunity to create stronger career opportunities for our talented staff members and garner more support from stakeholders throughout the region,” stated Jeremy Deming, CEO for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast.

BGCCC will continue to operate its current operations offices in Santa Maria. Both staff members and Board members are confident that the expanded geographic scope will elevate the level of outcomes for youth and teen members in Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Atascadero, Paso Robles, and other communities in they seek to expand to in the future.
