Boys & Girls Clubs host mentorship night in Paso Robles

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast

Local leaders pair with youth for a night of connection

    – Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast will host its Back A Youth Night event at the Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles on April 10. The event connects Club members with local community leaders, business professionals, and elected officials for an evening of mentorship, activities, and dinner.

Club members will be paired with adult mentors to participate in a series of structured activities, including cooking, art, and a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) project. These activities are part of the regular after-school programming offered by the organization.

“Mentorship, career exploration, and community service are major pillars in Boys & Girls Clubs programming and philosophy for building great futures for kids. Pairing kids with local adults who care about them and the success of our programs helps make meaningful connections for the kids AND the adults,” said Anna Libbon, chief program officer.

Dinner for the event is provided by Panda Express, which also participates in the evening alongside the youth. The event is sponsored by SESLOC Credit Union and Golden 1 Credit.

Additional Back A Youth Night events are scheduled at the Ron Estabillo Clubhouse in Guadalupe on May 15 and the Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria on Sept. 25.

Those interested in participating as mentors can sign up at centralcoastkids.org/event-calendar/back-a-youth-night/ or call (805) 354-7421. Organizers note that participation is suitable for workplace teams or community groups.

Founded in 1966, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast serves children from transitional kindergarten through age 18 across 10 sites in Atascadero, Creston, Guadalupe, Paso Robles, Santa Maria, and Shandon. The organization provides after-school tutoring, mentoring, and access to healthy activities. For more information, visit centralcoastkids.org.
