Bradley woman flees home with infant during attempted burglary
Deputies say suspect was found with a concealed firearm
– The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Tuesday after responding to a report of an in-progress residential burglary in the community of Bradley. The suspect was found to be armed with a handgun.
At about 11 a.m. on Oct. 28, deputies responded to the 65000 block of Bradley Road after a woman reported that someone was attempting to break into her home through a window while she was inside with her infant child. The victim fled the residence with her child and hid on the property while calling for help.
A nearby neighbor, who was contacted by the victim’s husband, went to the home and encountered a subject at the residence. The subject then left the area.
Assistance was requested from the California Highway Patrol, which located a person and a vehicle at a nearby bridge. Sheriff’s deputies later located the victim and confirmed that no one remained inside the home.
With assistance from the neighbor, deputies identified the person located by the California Highway Patrol as the suspect in the attempted break-in. Junior Trino Godinez, 33, of Pacoima, was arrested without incident. Deputies found Godinez in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office thanked the California Highway Patrol, the agency’s H-70 Air Unit, and Monterey County Parks Rangers for assisting with the incident.
Godinez was booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of attempted burglary, possession of a concealed firearm, and violation of probation terms.
