Update: Motor home collides with cars on Highway 101 Northbound 

Mild injuries reported, CHP confirms

– Update posted July 28:  At least three cars were involved in an accident Monday afternoon on northbound 101 just south of Spring Street. The initial investigation by the California Highway Patrol suggests a motor home struck a vehicle parked on the right shoulder. A couple in the motor home were shaken up but not seriously injured. Two people were transported to Sierra Vista hospital as a precaution, but neither were admitted to the hospital, according to CHP.

No one was inside the parked car, which was mangled into twisted metal, according to eye witness accounts.

Original story posted July 27: On Monday afternoon at approximately 2:20 p.m., a motor home towing a car collided with other cars while traveling Northbound on Highway 101 just past the Highway 46 West exit, according to California Highway Patrol.

According to an eye witness, the motor home seemed to veer off the road a little, colliding with one or possibly multiple cars as well as a small truck. There seems to be little to no injuries as a result of the accident, according to both the eye witness and CHP.The report said that it is unclear at this time as to whether the motor home or the car that was being towed hit the other vehicles.

CHP is currently responding to the scene. All lanes remain open on the freeway, the involved parties are all currently on the side of the road. Fire, medics, and tow trucks are all currently being dispatched in response.
