–Brightly painted wine barrels are popping up in downtown Paso Robles.

Artist Laure Carlisle coordinates the promotion started by Main Street. Carlisle gets wine barrels from local wineries, then finds owners who would like appropriately painted barrels in front of their stores. Then, she hooks the business owner up with local artists, who create the artwork.

So far, there are about 50 painted wine barrels. Norma Moy says soon Main Street will produce a guide at the downtown kiosk so people can find a specific artist’s objects of wine barrel art. Carlisle says they will continue to introduce another fifty barrels.
