By the Sea Productions to stage Neil Simon’s ‘California Suite’

– By the Sea Productions will present Neil Simon’s “California Suite” as its spring show, marking the Morro Bay theater company’s 10th year of live theater.
The production is a director’s workshop format in which new director-actors on the company board each stage a scene of the comedy-drama, which depicts different guests in room 203 of a California hotel. Directors Nicolette Tempesta, Jonah Duhe, Topher Lyons, and Kira Dobson each helm a different scene with a separate cast of actors. Tempesta, the company’s new president, organized the format to showcase the new directors. The result is a four-scenes-in-one presentation.

“California Suite” runs three weekends, April 24 through May 10, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at 545 Shasta Ave. in Morro Bay.
