California Valley woman dies in single-vehicle accident

chp–On March 31 at approximately 8 p.m. Robbie Lee Roe, a 23-year-old California Valley resident, was driving a Ford Taurus northbound on El Mira Road north of Belmont Trail at approximately 50-55 mph near Soda Lake.

For unknown reasons, Roe allowed the vehicle to drift to the left, and then made an unsafe turning movement to the right, veering from an otherwise straight path of travel, which caused her to lose control of the vehicle.

She left the dirt roadway, traveling down a slight descending embankment. While she attempted to regain control of the vehicle, it subsequently rolled over one time, coming to rest on its wheels.

Due to Roe not wearing her seatbelt, she sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision, according to authorities. Due to the fact that there were no eyewitnesses to this collision and the remote location, CHP Dispatch was not contacted until approximately 2150 hours by a friend of Roe, who came across the collision on El Mira Road.

The collision is currently under investigation by the Templeton CHP Office.
