–The California Women for Agriculture San Luis Obispo County chapter will host a special educational forum to learn more about how Measure A and B will impact the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Templeton Performing Art Center. This two-hour forum about water is open to everyone. A $10 cash donation is requested at the door to support the scholarship program. Members are free.

Seating is limited. RSVP: Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2487326.

    The forum will cover:

    · What is the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), which was signed into law effective January 2015?
    · Who will manage the basin and what are the details of the special election happening in February 2016?
    · Why do I need to pay for a special water district, isn’t water my property right?

Moderated and facilitated by the League of Women Voters, the forum will kick-off with a presentation by John Diodati, from the San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department. Engineering geologists from the State Water Resources Control Board – Tom Peltier and Jessica Bean – will follow. Rural residents and landowner representatives who are both for and against Measure A and B will speak. Greg Grewal with the Paso Robles Water Integrity Network PAC will speak against Measure A and B. Randy Diffenbaugh with CALM and Dee Lacey with Yes on the Measure A and B Committee will speak in favor of Measure A and B. Producer groups who have taken an official position regarding Measure A and B have also been invited to participate.

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear perspectives from both sides for and against Measure A and B, gather facts and ask questions.
