Update: Caltrans reopens 12-mile stretch of Highway 1 after rockslide
Update posted Feb. 10, 5 a.m.:
– Highway 1 has reopened between Ragged Point and Gorda, according to a Facebook post by Cal Trans District 5.
Crews were on scene at first light on Friday to clear slide material from the roadway which included a 5 ft. diameter boulder. Crews then inspected the remainder of the closure area before reopening the roadway:

Caltrans closes 12-mile stretch of Highway 1 after rockslide
– A 12-mile section of Highway 1 is closed overnight between Ragged Point in northern San Luis Obispo County and Gorda in southern Monterey County due to a small slide covering the northbound lane on a blind curve.
Crews will be on-site today at first light to assess the conditions and clear debris from the roadway. There is no estimated time for reopening.
