Canzona Women’s Ensemble invites vocalists to audition
– Canzona Women’s Ensemble announced audition dates for its upcoming fall concert, Heart Strings: Ties That Bind. Auditions will be held Aug. 14 in San Luis Obispo and Aug. 16 in Shell Beach.
The ensemble is seeking women with prior choral experience who are enthusiastic about music and community engagement. Candidates should demonstrate musicality, commitment, and a desire to contribute to the group’s success.
Auditions will include a prepared solo piece of the singer’s choice, sight-reading exercises, and vocal range assessment.

Canzona Women’s Ensemble is a San Luis Obispo County-based choral group that performs two concerts each season, one in the fall and one in the spring. The ensemble collaborates with artists across the Central Coast, including poets, composers, dancers, and musicians, to present works from the women’s choral repertoire.
Artistic directors and co-conductors Cricket Handler and Jill Anderson founded the ensemble in the summer of 2009.
