Celebration of Apollo 11 50th anniversary happening at the library
–The Paso Robles City Library invites the public to a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing on Saturday, July 20, from 1-5 p.m., beginning with a showing of the acclaimed 2019 documentary about the Apollo 11 mission (rated G).
Following a brief intermission and Moon Pies, view a feature film based on the life of Neil Armstrong (rated PG-13), first man to set foot on the moon. Starring Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, this film was described by IndieWire as being “far more authentic than your average biopic” thanks to its close following of the book that inspired it, First Man by James Hansen. “The 1969 Moon Landing is one of the most significant historical events during my lifetime, and I can’t wait to relive the excitement again!” said Karen Christiansen, Adult Services Librarian.
