Lavender season begins in San Miguel

New sunset evenings and group experiences debut this season

    – Hambly Lavender Farm will open its 2026 season May 10 and continue through Sept. 7, offering visitors access to lavender fields and a range of farm experiences north of Paso Robles.

The family-run farm invites visitors to walk through blooming fields, harvest lavender, and participate in seasonal activities throughout the summer.

“People come here to slow down,” said farm owner Gina Hambly. “Lavender has a calming effect — it can change the pace of a moment, and spending time in the fields is something guests really remember.”

The farm’s Lavender U-Pick experience will run May 10 through Sept. 7 on Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission costs $20 per person, and children under 10 attend free. Visitors can harvest a lavender bundle, walk the fields, visit animals, and use picnic areas and the farm store.

The farm will introduce Sunset on the Farm, a series of evening events scheduled on Saturdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from May through August. Attendees can walk through the fields during sunset, bring picnics, and purchase wine from Paso Robles winery partners. Admission costs $30 per person.

Hambly Lavender Farm will also offer private group experiences for 10 to 25 guests. The events will accommodate bachelorette parties, birthdays, girls’ weekends, bridal showers, and small retreats. Guests can walk the fields, harvest lavender, and interact with farm animals.

The farm will offer three private experience options. The Lavender Field Gathering includes a farm visit with reserved picnic seating and lavender harvesting, starting at $65 per guest. The Lavender Picnic Experience includes a styled picnic with charcuterie or catered lunch boxes, starting at $95 per guest. The Lavender Field Celebration includes a private tour and guided activity such as painting, yoga, or a lavender craft workshop, starting at $150 per guest. Optional additions include wine tasting partnerships, photography sessions, lavender products, and upgraded picnic menus.

Guided farm experiences will take place Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. for $30 per person. Farmer Milton Hambly will lead one-hour walks covering how lavender is grown, harvested, distilled, and made into products.

The farm will also host workshops during the season, including charcuterie board sessions with Amazing Grazing, painting workshops, wine blending experiences, lavender distillation sessions, olive oil and culinary lavender tastings, and a full moon iPhone photography workshop.

Hambly Lavender Farm will hold its annual Lavender Bloom Celebration on June 13 during peak bloom with limited admission.

The farm is located in San Miguel, California, and operates seasonally with Lavender U-Pick, guided tours, sunset events, private group experiences, and workshops available during the season.
