Chamber of commerce names new Director of Economic Development

Jeff Eckles

Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce has announced that Jeff Eckles will be joining their team as the Director of Economic Development to lead the charge in their role as the Lead Agency for Economic Development in Paso Robles.

Eckles joins the chamber after serving as the Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of the Central Coast (HBACC) since 2014 where he worked as the liaison between the association and local government, the media and the community to execute their strategic initiatives. Prior to the HBACC, Eckles worked in finance in which he founded Eckles Wealth Management, Inc. and served as the President of this Independent Investment Management Firm. Eckles is also the Owner and Founder of Morro Bay House of Jerky located in Morro Bay since 2010.

“Hiring someone with Jeff’s experience and talent is a clear example of the chamber’s determination to generate momentum and create a positive impact for our economic vitality while maintaining our quality of life here,” said Larry Werner, PRCC Chair of the Economic Development Committee. “We interviewed several candidates and were very impressed with the high quality of the people we met, but Jeff stood out for his experience and ability to create and expand relationships with various stakeholders.”

In addition to managing his career, Eckles has been active in the community having served as the Chairman for the Harbor Advisory Board for the City of Morro Bay, as President of the Estero Bay Community Foundation, on several committees including the Economic Development Committee for the SLO Chamber of Commerce, and as current Treasurer of the Housing Trust Fund of SLO County.

Earlier this year the Paso Robles City Council took steps to enter into a partnership with the chamber as part of their Economic Development Initiative. “With this partnership our purpose is to encourage business prosperity by promoting a healthy and diverse local economy,” said Gina Fitzpatrick President/CEO for the chamber. “This will be accomplished through advocacy, identifying resources, and directing information to our members and prospective businesses looking to strengthen, move, or start their business in Paso Robles. We are passionate about developing a thriving local economy and have the expertise and strategic partnerships to be successful and firmly believe that Jeff is the right person to lead us in this effort.”
