Charish Marie Denlinger Childers dies at 33
–It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Cherish Marie Denlinger Childers. On the evening of Friday, November 3, this beautiful young woman took the Lord’s hand and went home to her eternal resting place.
Earlier this year, Cherish was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Although treatment options were tried, nothing was effective and she was deemed terminal in the past month and a half. Cherish brought so much joy to those who knew her. She had an infectious laugh, a fearless personality and a fun little devious streak. Cherish Marie, or Bear as family and close friends called her, accomplished so much in her 33 years that she was told she wouldn’t; she became a source of inspiration to the rest of us.
Whether medaling in Special Olympics, walking in her high school graduation, being an amazing big sister, planning a wedding, being a bridesmaid at family weddings or working whole-heartedly at a job she enjoyed, she did it with a smile and with a grace that took our breath away. Cherish approached life unaware of the restraints that were put on her. She just barreled ahead with a purpose and a drive that astonished those who knew her.
Cherish is survived by her husband Tim Childers, adoring parents, Lyndon and Frances Denlinger, her dear brother Paul Denlinger and his wife Audrey, as well as her Grandmother Shirley Henderson and her Grandfather Lloyd Denlinger. She leaves behind several loving aunts and uncles as well as numerous cousins spread throughout the United States and Canada. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Ruth Stauffer Denlinger and her Grandfather Eugene Henderson.
