Chicago packs the house at Vina Robles

–The band Chicago packed the house at Vina Robles Saturday night.

Balmy weather enhanced the final concert of the Summer of 2017. The crowd included a few notables, including former California Secretary of Education, Jack O’Connell, who wore a Chicago Cubs jersey.

For Jeff Coffey, the return to Paso Robles celebrated his debut as a member of the band. He made his first appearance as bass player and singer one year ago at Vina Robles. Coffey says he got inspired to perform while playing trombone with his high school marching band during half-time at the Superbowl in Orlando. He has worked with a number of bands, including Hootie and the Blowfish, but also has an impressive solo career. .
The band played a long first set, then band members gave the crowd an unplugged rendition of Chicago’s hits. After a short break, they ramped up the second set with their best known tunes.

At the end, they said they’d be back to perform again at Vina Robles.
