Chris Scalia speaks at Republican Women’s Federation meeting
–Chris Scalia spoke Monday to several hundred people attending a meeting of the Republican Women’s Federation of Paso Robles. Scalia is the son of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. In 1986, President Ronald Reagan appointed Scalia to the nation’s highest court. Scalia was described as the intellectual anchor for the originalist and textualist position in the court’s conservative wing. He died in February of 2016.
Chris Scalia told the group about his experiences growing up with his father, Antonin Scalia. He describes introducing his father during an assembly when Chris was in high school and flubbing his dad’s first name. “I had always called him simply ‘Dad.’ I never called him by his first name. I gave Antonin about seven syllables”
Chris Scalia, who is one of Scalia’s nine children, edited a book which included his father’s speeches and writings. The book is entitled “Scalia Speaks: Reflections on Law, Faith and a Life Well Lived.”
Chris Scalia signed his books at the meeting, held Monday at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom.
