Cioppino & Vino raises nearly 60k

–The Paso Robles Children’s Museum’s annual fundraiser, Cioppino & Vino, was held this past Sunday, Oct. 14 and the sell out crowd raised nearly $60,000 to support play in the community. This was a significant increase from years past and the museum will use the funds for it’s Community Partner Program and general operating expenses.

Seven chefs and 12 wineries were on hand serving up some delicious cioppinos and great wines. The cioppino was tasted by a panel of judges for the Judges’ Award and the chefs also vied for the guests’ votes hoping to win the People’s Choice Award. This year the brothers took home the top prizes. Chef Martin Beckett of Pappy MeGregor’s took home the Judges’ Award and Chef Chris Beckett of Fish Gaucho won the People’s Choice Award. Chef Kyle Wilson of the Paso Robles Inn’s Steakhouse was runner up in both categories this year.

“This was our best event yet and we raised more this year then ever before,” said Jennifer Smith, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Children’s Museum. “We really appreciate all the restaurants, chefs, & wineries who support us. Because of their generous contributions our expenses are very low, under $5,000, so it makes for a very good fundraiser” added Smith. She went on to say, “Cioppino & Vino also receives a lot of support from local business via auction item donations, in-kind donations, and corporate sponsorships. Our local community is very generous and we couldn’t have such a successful event without their support. Of course, the guests who attend, bid, and donate are the true heroes of the day.”
