City accepting applications for planning commission

–The City of Paso Robles is now accepting applications for appointment to the Paso Robles Planning Commission. Appointments will be for 3-year terms expiring February 28, 2019. The terms of commissioners Darrel Cooper and Chairman Vince Vanderlip are expiring in February.

Commissioners can expect to dedicate 15-20 hours each month to meetings, subcommittee meetings and meeting preparation. The commission consists of seven members and they shall be either qualified electors or have a vested interest in the city. The commission meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Paso Robles City Hall Conference Center. Subcommittee meetings are scheduled at the convenience of the commission members.

The commission prepares recommendations to the Paso Robles City Council regarding the City General Plan and Zoning Ordinance. It also performs duties related to environmental review and the approval/denial of development applications including conditional use permits, development plans and tentative maps.

Applicants are advised that all commissioners are required to file annual financial disclosure statements and, under certain circumstances, there are restrictions on the actions of commissioners.

Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 1000 Spring Street or downloaded from the city web site at:

Applications are due on Friday, Jan. 29, at 5 p.m. at city hall. To be considered for appointment, the application must be received by the due date.
