City begins paving work on Creston Road Corridor
Travelers may experience temporary delays and traffic control in the area during construction
– The City of Paso Robles has begun paving work on the Creston Road Corridor following the completion of several preliminary improvements.
Crews recently finished installing fiber conduits, repairing underground water and sewer utilities, adding missing sidewalks, and upgrading curb ramps along the corridor. These updates precede the main paving work now underway.
The improvements are part of a community-driven vision that began in 2016 through public workshops and community engagement. The City Council adopted the preferred alternatives in 2018 following an open house.
According to the city’s schedule, dig-out repairs in localized areas where the subgrade has failed began on July 9. Paving of side streets and edge grinding is currently in progress. Mainline paving is scheduled to begin on July 16. Installation of traffic signals at Walnut and Bolen is set to resume on July 14. Final pavement striping is expected during the week of Aug. 11.
The city advises that travelers may experience temporary delays and traffic control in the area during construction.
