    City Council appoints two new planning commissioners 

    –At a special meeting on Thursday evening, the Paso Robles City Council interviewed seven applicants to fill two open seats on the city’s planning commission.Paso Robles planning commission

    The council appointed Shannon Agredano and Sheree Davis to fill the seats currently held by Vince Vanderlip and Darrel Cooper. The new commissioners’ terms start March 1. The new appointees join commissioners Doug Barth, Scott Brennan, Thomas Burgett, John Donaldson and Bob Rollins.

    Agredano, a 10-year resident of Paso Robles, is retired police officer. She previously served as a city councilwoman and planning commissioner in Hollister, Calif. She is the former owner of an electrical contracting company.

    Davis is a former president and CEO of the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce. She is currently an instructor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cuesta College.

    On Feb. 28, the planning commission will be holding a reorganization dinner to swear in the new commissioners, elect chairpersons and to honor the outgoing commissioners.

    The commission is responsible for approving, conditionally approving, or denying parcel maps, subdivisions, conditional use permits, zone variances, planned developments, and site plans. The commission also has a specific role in the formation of redevelopment project area. Further, the planning commission can make recommendations to the city council on legislative matters and the acquisition and disposition of property by the city. The commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Center.

    The city council also appointed Tracey Hockett to the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners which oversees the Oak Park project.
