City council approves draft plan for voting districts 

–Tuesday night, Paso Robles City Council unanimously approved a draft plan for creating districts for the election of council members. Draft Plan E, which was developed by a citizen, creates districts in the city that give each council member his or her own district. The map is available online here. 

The city council also honored the Paso Robles library and its volunteers. Mayor Steve Martin read a proclamation naming the week of April 7th Library Week in Paso Robles. On hand to receive the proclamation, City Librarian Angelica Fortin, and librarians Sandi Williams and Carrie Sletten. Angelica Fortin said, “We really love what we do. We love serving our community. Thanks for acknowledging all the work we do. And thank all our volunteers for all of their work in helping us meet our mission.”The council also heard a presentation from Monterey Bay Community Power, a collective which some cities in San Luis Obispo County have joined. JR Kilgore of MBCP explained the “community choice energy opportunity.” The presentation was informational only.
