Paso Robles City Council Meeting Highlights⎯ Highlights from the Paso Robles City Council meeting held on March 15, as sent by the City of Paso Robles, are as follows.
The city has returned to hybrid public meetings pursuant to AB 361, which allows for a deviation from the teleconference rules required by the Ralph M. Brown Act. Residents now have the option to attend the meeting in person or to participate remotely.

The city council took the following actions:
- Read proclamations for Red Cross Month, Women’s History Month, and the Month of the Child.
- Received presentations on Paso Robles Central Coast Community Energy, the Paso Robles Police Department 2021 Annual Report, and the Caltrans Quarterly Report and Transportation Update.
- Approved a new event in city park – Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate this annual holiday commemorating the end of African American slavery in the United States. The event will include guest speakers, music, dance performances, and a kids’ zone featuring traditional games such as sack races, balloon toss, and musical chairs. Food will be available in the park and from a food truck. Committee members and their families will provide logistical support for the event.
- Created an ad hoc committee to consider a funding request from the El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) for homeless services. The ad hoc committee comprised of councilmember Gregory and councilmember Hamon will work with key community stakeholders, ECHO staff, and city staff to create a report of findings and recommendations to potentially amend the existing Memorandum of Understanding and funding for ECHO. The recommendations of the ad hoc committee will be presented to Council on May 17, 2022.
- Approved a regional Memorandum of Understanding by and between Fort Hunter Liggett, Camp Roberts, Camp SLO, the City of Paso Robles, and the City of King to form a partnership to strengthen relations between military installations and local governments by collectively supporting local, state, federal and national defense goals by raising awareness, educating stakeholders, and by fostering cooperation, coordination, and mutual support.
- Modified the Senior Parking Permit as outlined in the staff report and asked staff to return with additional options to create a cost-neutral parking program. Also directed staff to bring an agenda item to discuss increasing the Transient Occupancy Tax as a revenue source to help fund expenses related to downtown parking or potentially other community needs.
